Unlike in previous FromSoftware RPGs that were more or less linear, the developer’s latest is anything but. Elden Ring doesn’t really give you a great deal of direction as to where to go next. One fairly obvious route early in the game leads you to Stormveil Castle and, eventually, to defeating what should be your first demi-god boss, Godrick the Grafted. But what to do after beating Godrick in Elden Ring is the question many players are struggling with next. Well, here’s what you need to know.
What to Do After Beating Godrick in Elden Ring
After having beaten Godrick you will have a direct path through Stormveil Castle and out the other side to Liurnia of the Lakes. Your next port of call should be to head north and toward the Raya Lucaria Academy.
Along the way, you can explore the lands of Liurnia’s south and the points of interest you find along the way, but your ultimate objective is to enter the game’s next Legacy Dungeon (the aforementioned Academy).
The Raya Lucaria Academy is quite a tricky area, with enemies that often shoot magical attacks that you won’t have seen before. You should ideally be around level 30 before tackling this area.
In the Academy, you’ll be taking on two bosses:
Both of these bosses are a step up in difficulty from Godrick, but you should also be better at Elden Ring by the time you arrive, so don’t sweat too much if you’ve just come off the back of struggling to beat him.
Meeting Gostoc, Nepheli, & Kenneth Haight
After defeating Godrick, you can also return to the boss arena after resting at a Site of Grace to find Gostoc the Gatekeeper. At this point, you can either kill him as revenge for stealing your Runes, or leave him be.
Past Gostoc is the throne room, where you can also meet Nepheli Loux and Kenneth Haight to complete their questlines, assuming you’ve already encountered them before and progressed through their stories. Kenneth can be first encountered in east Limgrave, where he asks you to liberate Fort Haight, while Nepheli can be found at the Village of the Albinaurics.
