New PlayStation Plus Tiers Announced Merging Subscription With PlayStation Now & Offering Plenty of Games & Classics

Today Sony announced a new format for PlayStation Plus , basically offering new tiers that merge the service with PlayStation Plus and more.

Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a new format for the PlayStation Plus subscription, basically offering new tiers that merge the service with PlayStation Plus and more.

While the basic service remains more or less the same (now called PlayStation Plus Essentials), but with the games offered at no additional cost limited to two a month, the Extra and Premium tiers (or “Deluxe” where cloud streaming isn’t available) offer a catalog of games which basically replaces PlayStation Now.

On the other hand, PlayStation Now goes the way of the dodo as a standalone service. If you’re a PSNow subscriber, you’ll be grandfathered into a PSPlus Premium subscription with no increase to your fees at launch.

Here’s the full breakdown.
