The name will likely ring a bell for many JRPG veterans, as it’s a remake in the popular HD-2D visual style of Square’s classic game with the same name, originally published in 1994 on the Super NES/Famicom

It’ll release on Nintendo Switch on July 22.

The game features several stories set in different times and places in history, which you can play in any order that you want. It’s certainly a very unique take on the genre and now western audiences will finally get to experience it.

You can check out the trailer below and see how the new visuals transformed the original game.

If you’d like to learn more, you can find an official description below:

In the Twilight of Edo Japan, a shinobi undertakes a secret mission. Experience these tales in any order you choose—the adventure is yours to control. What other stories will you uncover on the horizon…?”

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
