Pokemon Legends Arceus: How to Trade Pokemon & Items

If you’re wanting to catch ’em all in Pokemon Legends Arceus, chances are you may need a helping hand getting some of the rarer Pokemon around the Sinnoh region. Fortunately, you can do just that by trading Pokemon with friends and other players either locally or online. In this guide, we’ll be explaining how to trade in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

It’s worth noting that you won’t be able to begin trading Pokemon as soon as you start your adventure. You’ll first need to reach Jubilife City and complete the opening ‘tutorial’ section before proceeding.

Trading in Pokemon Legends Arceus

  1. Go to Jubilife Village

  2. Head to the Trading Post

This can be found in by looking for the bright yellow flag next to a stand in Jubilife City. It also has a Togepi on it.

  3. Speak to Simona stood next to the stand and select the ‘Trade’ option.

You’ll then have to choose whether you want to Trade with someone locally, or online.

  4. Follow the steps on-screen to begin the trading process either locally or online.

Once you’ve connected with the person you want to trade with, select the Pokemon you want to trade and confirm this. A small cutscene will play out and you’ll successfully trade Pokemon.

  5. When you’re done trading, press B to quit out of the screen and carry on with your adventure.

What Can You Trade?

Players will be able to trade Pokemon, as well as for Items by using Merit Points.

Merit Points are a secondary currency in the game that can be used to buy items from the Trading Post such as Rare Candy’s or evolution stones. They can be obtained by finding satchels scattered throughout Hisui and returning them via the Lost and Found option in the Internet Connection menu. Returned satchels grant anywhere between 50 to 100 Merit Points each.
