RiotX Event Brings Free Themed Battle Pass & More to Valorant

Riot Games’ first foray into television is set to kick-off later this month when Arcane’s first episode releases, marking the premiere of an animated series based on the League of Legends universe. To celebrate, the publisher is running an enormous event called RiotX within League of Legends, but it’s also coming to Valorant as well.

While not all that surprising in itself given that Riot has run Valorant crossover events with League of Legends in the past, what is likely to surprise is the depth of content –both free and premium– that has been crafted for the event.

First off, there’s a free battle pass throughout November which marks Valorant’s largest event pass to date.

The 10 tiers of the battle pass offer the following rewards:

⦁ 1 Gun Buddy: Arcane Cupcake
⦁ 2 Arcane Player Cards: Arcane Embrace and Welcome to the Undercity
⦁ 2 Arcane Sprays: Calculated and Boom!
⦁ 3 Titles: Arcane, Cupcake, and Liar
⦁ 20 Radianite Points

Also, players have the chance to earn free exclusive in-game rewards themed after elements from the Arcane animated series through Twitch. It kicks off later this week, Nov. 5, just ahead of the show’s premier episode. The following content is available:

  • Fishbones Gun Buddy (Premiere Twitch Drop Reward)
    • Available starting November 6, 2021.
    • On Premiere Day, any player that watches the Global Premiere Event broadcast on Twitch or Arcane.com logged in/linked to their Riot Games account will earn this reward. This reward can also be earned during the EU rebroadcast on November 7, 11:00AM CET.
  • Arcane Poro Gun Buddy (The World of RiotX Arcane Reward)
  • Available starting November 7, 2021.
    • Players will earn this reward by completing missions in the World of RiotX Arcane.
  • Loose Cannon Spray (The World of RiotX Arcane Reward)
    • Available starting November 14, 2021
    • Players will earn this reward by completing missions in the World of RiotX Arcane.
  • Arcane Jinx Card

Finally, as mentioned earlier, there’s also premium Arcane-themed content coming to Valorant in the form of the Arcane Collector’s set. At 2,380 VP ($24, give or take), it isn’t cheap, but it will be completely exclusive and apparently won’t ever return to the shop or Night Market. It goes live on Nov. 5, 2pm PST to Monday, Nov. 22, 2pm PST.

Preeti Khanolkar, senior producer at Riot Games, said in a press release:

“We’re offering a ton of free accessories through giveaways and the free event pass during the RiotX Arcane event. But we also wanted to give players who are extra hyped for the Arcane animated series a way to purchase some extra-special, exclusive Arcane content. Arcane has a really distinct and immersive world that we wanted to bring to life in Valorant through the Arcane Sheriff and several accessories.”

Here’s an overview of the content:

  • Arcane Sheriff
    • Level 1 – Custom model design and bullets. Custom idle pose, equip, reload, and firing animations.
    • Level 2 – Model upgrade. Custom visual effects and audio during equip, reload, and firing animations.
  • Monkey Business Gun Buddy
  • Tag! You’re Dead Spray
  • Arcane Mysteries Card
  • Jinx Title

Of course, this week also marks the beginning of Episode 3’s third Act, and so naturally there’s a new premium skin bundle in addition to the patch. You can find out more about the Radiant Crisis bundle here.
