Evolving Magmar Into Magmortar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond

To evolve Magmar into Magmortar, you need to trade Magmar with a Magmarizer item equipped. Upon the trade being completed, Magmar will immediately evolve into Magmarizer.

However, there are some things you need to take into account.

First off, the Magmar family of Pokemon is exclusive to Shining Pearl, and they cannot be caught in the Brilliant Diamond games. If you’ve got Brilliant Diamond, you’ll need to get someone with Shining Pearl to trade you one.

Where to Catch Magby

The easiest way to get a Magmortar is to first catch a Magby in Pokemon Shining Pearl. It can be caught in the following locations:

  • Typhlo Cavern
  • Lava Cave
  • Cayon Lava Cave

Magby has a 5% chance of holding the Magmarizer item when caught in the game.

You then need to level up your Magby to level 30 to make it evolve into Magmar. At that point, you can then trade it with a friend with the Magmarizer item attached to get it to evolve. Then have them trade it back so you can get this powerful fire-type Pokemon.

That’s everything you need to know on evolving Magmar into Magmortar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Be sure to check out our wiki for more tips and tricks on the game, or click the links below.
