The package will bring Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, to basically every modern platform with a working chip, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It’s worth mentioning that the Rockstar Game Launcher is the only PC platform included in the announcement.

It’ll hit these platforms later this year, while iOS and Android will also get the trilogy in the first half of 2022. No specific release date has been announced for any platform at the moment.

Not many details have been shared about what the games will look like on modern hardware besides the following snippet.

“The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals. We’re extremely excited to share more about these groundbreaking titles in the coming weeks — stay tuned!”

Existing versions of the three games involved will be removed from digital storefronts next week.

Looks like Rockstar isn’t too much in a hurry to jump into Grand Theft Auto VI, which isn’t too surprising, considering how much GTAV is selling and the fact that we’re still going to get more platforms for that as well.

Proud weeb hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long-standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality), MMORPGs, and visual novels are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans on Earth of the flight simulator genre.
