While Jett: The Far Shore may have similar vibes to something like No Man’s Sky, as the gameplay trailer points out, the game isn’t about combat or resource gathering.

The main character Mei, is merely interested in studying the wildlife of the game’s “mythic ocean planet.” You’ll be able to skip around the world on a rocket-like vehicle, using momentum to get around quickly and efficiently, and then you’ll also spend time on foot trying to gain information about what you come across.

There does appear to be aggressive wildlife, but it’s unclear at the moment how you deal with it.

Take a look at the gameplay trailer below. Jett: The Far Shore will release on PS4 and PS5 sometime later this year.
