Nothing can turn a game on its head and energize an entire stadium quite like a home run. The only thing that comes close is a perfectly timed home run robbery. It’s time to turn the tables on those power hitters and steal their spotlight. Here’s how to rob home runs in MLB The Show 21.
Robbing Home Runs in MLB The Show 21
Timing, ability and speed are the major components of pulling off a run-saving catch at the top of the wall in MLB The Show 21. You might have impeccable timing, but that won’t do you much good if the outfielder you’re controlling catches the ball like a net catches water.
Sadly, you usually don’t have control over a single player’s stats unless you’re playing Road to the Show. That means all you can do is make sure your timing is perfect when the opportunity to steal a home run comes up.
Once a ball gets clobbered and it’s headed for the seats a red and yellow marker will appear on the wall. This lets you know that you’ll have an opportunity to keep the ball in play if you can time your jump properly.
As you get onto the warning track and reach the wall get ready to press R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox to go up and rob that slugger. Time your leap so that your glove will meet the ball at the apex of your jump. If you do this, then even some lower-tier players should be able to pull down one of these incredible catches.
Time needed: 1 minute
Here’s a quick summary of how to rob home runs in MLB the Show 21:
- Look for the marker on the wall
After the batter makes contact with a pitch a red and yellow marker should appear on the wall if it’s catchable.
- Get to the wall as fast as you can
You’re probably not going to snag many line-drive home runs, but if it’s popped way up there than you’ll be able to make it to the wall.
- Hit R1/RB
The timing here is crucial. Meet the ball at the top of your jump and you’ll give your outfielder the best chance he’ll get to rob a homer.
That’s all there is to know about how to rob home runs in MLB the Show 21.
