Update 1.3 has been out for about a week now, but the Lantern Rite event has only just gone live in Genshin Impact. The event allows players to participate in the new Theater Mechanicus tower defense mode, as well as craft Xiao Lanterns and shop in Xiao’s Market for some seriously attractive rewards. Here’s how to get and use Peace Talismans in Genshin Impact.
Getting Peace Talismans in Genshin Impact
There are quite a few new resources to farm in Genshin Impact now that the Lantern Rite event is live, but the Peace Talismans are easily the most important ones to keep track of. These will allow you to buy items and other rewards from Xiao’s Market as mentioned above, and your main way of getting them is by playing the new Theater Mechanicus mode.
First off, after completing the first chapter of Xiao’s story, which should get added to your journal automatically after you’ve updated the game, check the event panel from the pause menu. From there, click on Theater Mechanicus and take on the quest.
The quest chain is pretty simple, only requiring you to play a couple of games at Liyue Harbor before you finally get to check out a trial run of Theater Mechanicus to get used to its gameplay systems. Once you’ve completed the trial run, you’ll be able to start using Xiao Lanterns to participate.
Each run costs you one Lantern, so make sure to have a good supply of those through out the course of the event.
Completing a run of Theater Mechanicus successfully will reward you with Sigils based on how well you’ve performed, and if you’re able to knock out various challenges associated with this mode, you’ll earn Peace Talismans as well.
For instance, upgrading your Mechani and performing well in high difficulty runs will reward you with Peace Talismans.
How to Use Them
From the event panel, you can also click on Xiao’s Market to see everything that’s available. Do note that you’ll need to spend at least 1,000 Peace Talismans in order to complete the Stand By Me quest (which also requires a Festive Fever level of ‘Glow of a Thousand Lanterns’) in order to claim your free 4-star character.
Levels 2 and 3 of Xiao’s Market will unlock on Feb. 14 and 18 respectively, so if you see any items you want from those tiers, make sure to save up your Talismans.
