The Last of Us Day Brings New Statues, Free Themes, Discounts, & More

The Last of Us Day kicks off tomorrow, the official annual event in celebration of Naughty Dog’s beloved action/adventure game, bringing with it new merchandise and fun activities for fans. That includes two awesome new statues, discounts on The Last of Us content, a vinyl OST release, a free PS4 theme, photo mode competitions, and more.

Today’s information comes by way of a PS Blog post from Naughty Dog senior communications manager Scott Lowe. It’s worth noting that in addition to everything announced today, Naughty Dog says there are a few more surprises in the pipeline.

Vinyl Soundtrack Release + Posters

First up, Mondo is set to debut a special vinyl release of The Last of Us Part II Original Soundtrack, as well as two new posters.

All will be revealed and available for pre-order tomorrow starting at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET/6:00pm CET. Head over to Mondo’s site for more information.

The Last of Us Board Game

Next, there’s a The Last of Us board game in development! There’s not much in the way of details to share, but we do learn that it’s being made by CMON, makers of Bloodborne: The Board Game and God of War: The Card Game, to develop a brand new board game for The Last of Us.

Abby Cosplay Guide

For Abby mega-fans interested in cosplaying the character, Naughty Dog has put together a detailed cosplay guide that can be downloaded from the game’s official website.

 New Statues

Two new statues are available to purchase, one 16 inch figure with interchangeable arms that comes in three different versions from GamingHeads, and another 1/9 scale of young Ellie and Joel from Mamegyorai Collectibles.

Free PS4 Theme

A new The Last of Us Part II free PS4 is available for download. Pictured below.

Merch & Bundle Discounts

New merch is hitting the PlayStation Gear Store, including the Joel Funko Pop and a brand new t-shirt and mug available tomorrow. There will also be a limited number of the special edition The Last of Us Part II Taylor 314ce and GS Mini guitars back on the store for The Last of Us Day, available for one day only.

In addition, existing merch will be discounted by up to 40% on PlayStation Gear Store, and PlayStation Store will be hosting a The Last of Us Day Sale with a 50% discount on The Last of Us Remastered, The Last of Us: Left Behind, and select The Last of Us Remastered Factions Bundles all weekend.

Photo Mode Contest

Finally, the shutter bugs out there can look forward to entering a The Last of Us Part II photo mode contest:

“To enter, all you have to do is capture your masterpiece in The Last of Us Part II’s Photo Mode and share it with us via NaughtyDog.com/ugc and include your name, address, and date of birth between Thursday, October 1 12:01am PT and Thursday, October 29 11:59pm PT. We’ll be selecting one winner a week every Friday starting on October 9 until Friday, October 30 and featuring the winners on Naughty Dog’s social media channels.”
