The latest iteration of the Madden franchise is here with the release of Madden 21, and whether you’re a lifelong fan or a greenhorn, it’s best to be aware of all the tricks in your arsenal. That’s why we’re here with a guide on how to QB slide in Madden 21.
How to QB Slide in Madden 21
As with last year’s entry, sliding in Madden 21 is fairly easy to pull off so long as you fulfill a few conditions first.
For starters, you’ll need to scramble while playing as the QB. This is done by pressing and holding down R2 on PlayStation 4 or RT on Xbox One. If you don’t do this, you’ll just start sidestepping instead of initiating a slide.
You’ll also need to be beyond the line of scrimmage. If you’re still at or behind the line, the QB will instead try to initiate a pass, which can and will make an already inopportune situation you’re stuck in worse.
Once you’ve fulfilled these conditions though, you’ll be good to go.
To QB Slide in Madden 21, release R2/RT and then press Square on the PS4 or the X button on Xbox One. Doing so will initiate a slide and help you maximize the yards you gain with your play of choice.
When to Use a QB Slide
As for when the best times are to use slides in Madden 21, it varies.
While sliding is a go-to choice when you don’t have any clear passing options, it can also be used to fake out other players when used correctly. Opting for a slide in one play might convince them to move further in during future plays, and open up more passing opportunities for you as a result.
Read the situation and flow of each game you’re in accordingly, and try your best to maximize the use of slides to the best of your ability.
