The Fantastic Doom Twitter Celebrates Final Fantasy VII Remake With Awesome Mashup

Doom might be rivaling our boy Sonic the Hedgehog in the social media department these days. Not only did we really enjoy the lovefest that was the Animal Crossing and Doom Eternal alliance, the Doom Twitter in general has been great at mixing it up with totally unrelated gaming IPs.

To celebrate the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, someone over at team Doom created a homage to the classic Cloud Mako Reactor/Midgard shots using Doomguy, his Crucible Sword, and hellish backdrop.

Take a look for yourself. It makes for a pretty sweet phone wallpaper too! They nailed it if you ask us!

There’s a lot of cringy video game social media accounts out there that clearly try too hard to be “hip.” There are others that don’t bother to be anything other than a generic receptacle for press releases. Then there’s the few and the proud, like Doom and Sonic the Hedgehog that manage to ride that very fine line and actually are worth the follow. Kudos to them, and Final Fantasy VII Remake on the successful launch.
