The Western-inspired West of Dead stars Ron Perlman (of Fallout and Hellboy fame) and a Ghost Rider-esque cowboy with poetic dialogue and bullet-ricocheting action.

The game takes place in Purgatory, Wyoming in 1888. Ron Perlman’s character, the Dead Man William Mason, hunts creatures and villains across a dark Western setting.

The twin-stick action will involve slow-motion and bullet ricochets as well as a cover system to help Mason advance through a procedurally generated hunting grounds.

The cell-shaded look and the massive bosses make West of Dead look irresistible, and you won’t have to wait to play it either; the beta is currently playable on Xbox One, and it will run until November 25.

The beta will have you play through some hunting grounds, and if you manage to kill a Wendigo, you will win a trophy that will carry with you into the full game.

West of Dead won’t only be available on Xbox One though; it will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch sometime in 2020.
