Jedi Fallen Order: How to Save

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

As you make your way through Cal’s journey in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you’ll likely want to take a break every once in a while. When you do, you’ll likely start to wonder exactly how to save your game, especially with the game not making it all that clear on how you do exactly that. Here’s how to save in Jedi Fallen Order.

Saving Your Game in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Jedi Fallen Order uses an auto-save system to record your progress throughout the adventure. From our experience, this system is fairly rigorous, saving pretty much after you open a chest, reach a checkpoint, unlock a new shortcut, or defeat an enemy.

You can tell the game’s saving your progress by the little game icon that appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Simply wait for this to disappear and you’ll then be free to leave.

Pretty much anything you do in the game will result in Fallen Order performing an auto-save, or at least recording that you’ve done it. To successfully save your progress, though, you’ll need to seek out a Meditation Point.

These are essentially the equivalent of Dark Souls’ campfires, so be sure to keep an eye out for these and rest wherever you can. If you die, you’ll respawn at the last Meditation Point you rested at.

If you’re looking to force Jedi Fallen Order to save your game, simply seek out one of these Meditation Points on any planet. Doing so and resting at one will cause the game to auto-save, as will investing any skill points you’ve earned in a new ability for Cal.

Can You Manually Save?

Unfortunately, there’s no option to manually save your game in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from any menu. However, as we noted above, simply use either of the options at a Meditation Point and Cal will be ready to jump back into the action.

Resting at one of these save points will result in Cal’s health and Force gauges to be refilled, as well as BD-1’s Health Stims. All enemies in the area will also respawn, so be prepared.
