How Long Death Stranding Takes to Beat

  • Standard playthrough to end credits: 50-65 hours
  • Completionist / Platinum Trophy playthrough: 100+ hours

How long Death Stranding takes you to beat depends on how happy you are just to go about exploring the world, taking on side quests, what difficulty you’re playing on, and whether you want to see absolutely everything the game has to offer, or you just want to blast through to the end credits.

If you’re looking to enjoy the main story and dabble occasionally in side quests, you’ll most likely find that it takes you somewhere in the region of 45-65 hours to complete Death Stranding.

Of course, you can bring yourself down to the lower end of this spectrum by skipping the cutscenes, though you’ll be missing out on important story beats by doing this.

Alternatively, if you want to complete every side quest, every main mission, and make Sam the best delivery guy there ever was, you’re going to be looking at over 100 hours to complete the game.

This mainly comes down to the fact that players need to max their connection level with all NPCs in the game. Unsurprisingly, this can take an absolute age.

How Many Episodes There Are

In total, you’ll make your way through 14 episodes throughout Death Stranding’s entirety. These all vary in length and each one has a different amount of ‘Main Orders’ which are essentially your main objectives or missions in each of these.

Additional side missions can be picked up outside of these, which will, in turn, add to the length of each of Death Stranding’s episodes.

That’s everything you need to know on how long Death Stranding takes to beat. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to head over to our guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our guides below.
