Just like most other AAA games nowadays, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has a bunch of in-game preorder DLC items that players can get their hands on. Here’s how to redeem gold preorder DLC items in Death Stranding.
Redeeming Death Stranding Gold Items Preorder Code
Before you begin loading up the game trying to find your gold-colored items, you’ll need to first redeem the preorder code. This should have been printed out on a bit of receipt paper if you bought your copy of the game from a physical store.
If you ordered Death Stranding from an online retailer, they should send you the code in an email, or it can be accessible somewhere on your online account.
Once you’ve got the gold items preorder code, simply head to the PlayStation Store from your home screen, and then use the ‘Redeem Code’ option from the bottom of the left sidebar.
Enter the code as it’s displayed, and you should then see a confirmation screen of your gold items in Death Stranding. Confirm this, and then be ready to load up the game.
If you digitally downloaded Death Stranding, you don’t need to worry about redeeming a code. This should all be downloaded alongside the game automatically.

To actually get the different gold pre-order items in Death Stranding, you’ll need to earn them through gameplay. As you can see in the screenshot above, you’ll need to unlock the basic gear first.
For example, you’ll need to play through only a small amount of the game to gain access to Ludens Mask Sunglasses, so these can be changed by interacting with your gear just to the right of your BB in the private room.
As for the power skeleton, armor plate, and all-terrain skeleton, you’ll need to unlock each of these items first before you’ll then be able to fabricate the gold variants from any Fabricator you come across in the game.
