While Modern Warfare brings the single-player campaign back to the Call of Duty series, the co-op Spec Ops mode is one of the main draws for players. However, we’ve been having some issues actually getting into the game. If you are too, here’s everything you need to know about how to get the co-op spec ops pack in Modern Warfare.
When on the main menu, you can select the Co-Op option to play Spec Ops, but it might pop up with a message that says you don’t have the add-ons required.
How to Get Co-Op Spec Ops Pack in Modern Warfare
When we installed the game on Xbox One, the two Spec Ops packs installed automatically alongside the base game. Then, when we selected Co-op from the main menu, the game prompted another 2GB install.
However, when we played on PlayStation 4, neither pack installed automatically. When we selected Co-op, the first pack started to download after we were taken to the PlayStation store, coming in at 16GB.
Then, once that was done, the second started once we tried to go into Co-op again, with it coming in at 12GB.
The best thing to do would be to follow what we’ve done if you’re encountering the message. Just do note that we’d recommend not selecting Co-op again if the Spec Ops pack hasn’t downloaded yet.
When we tried to do so, the download restarted, without saving anything that had already downloaded.
If none of this is working for you, you’ll have to find Spec Ops pack one and two from the store of your chosen platform, but selecting Co-op should prompt anything you need.

- If they didn’t download alongside the game, select Co-Op from the main menu to prompt the downloads.
On PS4 they were 16 and 13GBs.
- You might need to select the option again to prompt the second download.
Don’t select it again once the second Spec Ops pack is downloading.
