How to Change Armor Appearance & Transmog in Destiny 2
Prior to this latest expansion, you had lots of armor options, however you generally always wanted to go with whatever gave you the best stats so you could survive the game’s toughest content.
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep gives you a lot of options for customizing your look and now you can transmog to change your armor appearance.
First off go to your character screen by pressing the options/menu button. After that inspect the piece of armor that you’re wanting to transmog by pressing triangle/Y.
Now press down on the D-pad to enter the screen to change the appearance and you’ll see all of the universal ornaments that you have access to in addition to shaders.
You can slot them in as much as you want for no cost whatsoever. However, keep in mind that you can only transmog year three armor 2.0 armor. Also, you can only transmog universal ornaments onto your armor, not anything you want.
Getting More Universal Ornaments
If you’re looking to get more Universal Ornaments, you have a few options. Any Eververse gear that you obtained in the past is available to use as an ornament but going forward you’ll be able to obtain new ones from the Eververse store that you can use to transmog.
Also, seasonal armor such as The Dawning can be used as a transmog Universal Ornament. So in the future when these such events happen, make sure to get the full set before the event ends so you can permanently change your armor 2.0 appearance with that seasonal set.
