While we still have a few days to go before Tokyo Game Show officially opens its gates, the announcement is indeed associated with the upcoming event in Japan. Square Enix may not be wanting to cram all of its content in the same few days.

The game will release on January 23, 2020 for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

You can check out the trailer below.

If you’re unfamiliar with the original game, which was released for Gamecube in 2003, you can find an official description below.

“Long ago, a giant meteorite fell on the land, and deadly miasma blanketed the world. Crystals keep the miasma in check, but the crystals’ power is not eternal. Young adventurers embark on a journey once a year seeking “drops of myrrh” to purify the crystals. These are the chronicles of brave young adventurers who journey to protect their home. These are the “CRYSTAL CHRONICLES.”

It’s been a long time coming, but finally, we’re seeing the light of the crystals at the end of the tunnel.
