How to Trade in Borderlands 3

The nice thing about Borderlands 3 is that you can help your friends and other players out by gifting them valuable loot. Or, if they have something that you want, you can always make a trade with them.

To trade with other players, they’ll first need to be in your squad, so either join their session or have them join up on you. Walk towards their character, and you should see a prompt to press and hold the square button (or X button if you’re on Xbox One).

Hold the button, and if the other player accepts, you’ll initiate a trade where you can select items from your inventory that you want to put up for a trade. You can also just offer money at the bottom of the screen, if you don’t have any gear you want to give up.

Once you’ve both put your items and money up, hit the confirmation button at the bottom of the screen. When both players confirm their selections, the trade will be made successfully.

Using the Mailbox

Alternatively, if your friends aren’t online, you can also make use of the mailbox in Borderlands 3 to gift them items.

Bring up the pause menu and choose the Social option, then select your friend’s profile and choose to send them an item. You can then pick any item from your inventory and send it to their mailbox. The next time they come online, they’ll be able to receive your items by checking their mail.

That’s all you need to know about how to trade in Borderlands 3. Be sure to check our Borderlands 3 guide wiki for more tips and information on the game, or check more of our guides below.
