Tokyo Game Show 2019 Will Be The Largest Ever; 1,368 Games Showcased

Today the CESA, which organizes Tokyo Game Show every year, reached out with a press release providing info on the scope of the 2019 edition. 

Today the Japanese Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, which organizes Tokyo Game Show every year, reached out with a press release providing info on the scope of the 2019 edition.

According to the press release this will be the largest TGS in history, with 2,417 booths and 655 exhibitors as of August 28.

On top of that, 1,368 games will be showcased.

“As of August 28, 2,417 booths (final count last year: 2,338) are
expected ― this is the largest-ever scale. The total number of
exhibitors is 655, consisting of a record 350 domestic exhibitors
(final count last year: 338) and 305 overseas. The number of overseas
exhibitors has marked more than 300 three years in a row.

Booth overviews and the total number of game titles have been released.
As of August 28, 1,368 titles are expected (1,322 in the same period
last year). The game titles which is in a wide range of genres and for
a variety of platforms such as game console, smartphone, and PC will
be exhibited in TGS2019. They will include hot new titles, titles
featured in the e-Sports and the cutting-edge games supporting the
VR (virtual reality).”

Incidentally, the numbers are not final. A definitive count will be released on the morning of the first day of the event, on September 12.

Tokyo Game Show will continue for four days until September 15. Exhibitors will include industry giants like Sony, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Koei Tecmo, Square Enix, and more.
