Astral Chain is the latest game from Platinum Games, a developer famous for making tough as nails action games. Here’s how to change playstyle in Astral Chain & what it does.
In place of difficulty settings, Astral Chain features different playstyles, which function similarly. Remember, there is no wrong way to play, and there is a playstyle to suit every gamer out there.
How to Change Playstyle in Astral Chain
You can change the playstyle at the start of each File or chapter of the game, or at any point by visiting your personal PC in Neuron HQ.
There are three playstyles available from the onset, with a fourth becoming available after clearing each File.
Unchained
Unchained is a story mode, and in it, combat is fully automated. This means you can just relax, take in the story and setting.
Casual
Casual is like an easy mode. In it, you will have a total of six Revival Batteries before you see a game over screen. This is very generous and should see you quite safely through even the toughest fights.
Standard PT
Standard Pt would be your normal mode. In it, you get two Revival Batteries, and your performance is ranked after clearing each File. Recommended for players used to the default difficulty in other action games.
Ultimate PT
Ultimate Pt is the hardest mode and is only available after completing a particular file on Standard Pt. You don’t get any Revival Batteries, and is recommended only for that looking for the ultimate challenge.
To summarise,
- Unchained
Story only. Battle is automated
- Casual
Easy mode. You have six Revival Batteries before you get a game over
- Pt Standard
Normal mode. You get two revival batteries and your performance is ranked at the end of each File (chapter).
- Pt Ultimate
Hard mode. No revival batteries and your performance is ranked at the end of each File (chapter).
That’s everything you need to know about playstyles in Astral Chain. By now you will probably already know which one will work best for you.
