The Fire Emblem series is finally making its way over to the Nintendo Switch with its latest entry. Here’s how to use Combat Arts in Fire Emblem Three Houses.
How to Use Combat Arts in Fire Emblem Three Houses
If you’ve played Shadows of Valentia, you’ll be familiar with the Combat Arts system. This mechanic works virtually the same way in Three Houses, and are special skills that can give you an advantage on the battlefield.
If your unit has an Art unlocked, all you need to do is press A to bring up their menu, choose the Combat Arts option, choose the move you want to use, then select your target. It’s as simple as that.
Unlike in Shadows of Valentia, though, Arts in this game will use up weapon durability. The durability cost is listed next to the Art name, and can cost up to five durability points, so make sure to keep that in mind when using them.
These special moves are best used against foes that are just out of your range, or on monster-type enemies who can be staggered in one turn.
How to Unlock Combat Arts
Just like all other skills and magic spells in this game, Combat Arts are unlocked as your unit’s skill level increases.
For instance, the more proficient you are with the sword, the more Arts you’ll unlock for that weapon type. Because of this, it might be wise to focus on just one or two skills to level up at a time, so that you can check out the extra Arts it has to offer.
That’s all you need to know about how to use Combat Arts in Fire Emblem Three Houses. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game, or check out our Fire Emblem Three Houses guide wiki.
