Just as in every Metroidvania game, certain areas of Bloodstained Ritual of the Night’s map aren’t accessible unless you have the correct item or ability. Some platforms are deliberately too high or too far away to reach with just a standard jump input. Here’s how to get double jump if you’re struggling to locate this essential ability.
How to Get Double Jump in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night
Like other abilities in the game, double jump is something you’ll learn by collecting the appropriate shard. Shards, if you didn’t already know, are items that grant special abilities, and they’re dropped by specific enemies throughout the game.
In the case of double jump, you’ll need to take out Andrealphus to get it.
This isn’t something you’ll be able to do in the early game, as Andrealphus is a fairly tricky customer unless your character is a decent level and equipped with suitable weapons.
Andrealphus can be found in Livre Ex Machine level, just west of the Tower of Dragons. We’ve highlighted the exact location on the map down below.
To beat Andrealphus you’ll want to make sure your character is equipped with blunt, piercing, and/or lightning damage, as this what the creature is weak against. It’s also a good idea to bring plenty of food in case you need to heal.
As soon as you’ve taken the creature our you’ll be awarded the double jump shard, which will allow you to jump further and longer.
Make sure you go back and revisit any areas of the map previously unreachable!
