Switch owners who are looking forward to creating their own fun Mario stages don’t have too long to wait, as the game is set to make its way to Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2019.

Announced back in February of this year during a Nintendo Direct presentation, the latest entry was shown to feature a host of exciting new features and in-game assets to add to make your levels stand out.

Super Mario Maker was a hugely popular 2015 Wii U title and later made its way to the Nintendo 3DS. Creating Mario-esque levels was exciting for many fans of the popular ex-plumber, especially thanks to the ability to search for and play other players creations online.

The game also picked up traction via streaming and video platforms, with many viewing their favorite streamers tackle challenging and fun levels.

The upcoming sequel will hope to replicate that attention online as well, leveraging intense and ridiculous player-made levels.

Hungry Nintendo fans might be satiated for now, but many are still anxiously awaiting a Nintendo direct with updates on the progress of other highly anticipated games such as Animal Crossing 2019 (working title).

You can view more details about Super Mario Maker 2 on Nintendo’s website.
