The game is basically a Story of Seasons (which older fans may know as Harvest Moon) game set in the ultra-popular Doraemon anime franchise. It’s designed with a warm, nostalgic visual style that resembles a picture book, and lets the player handle a farm, interact with the village, and explore the surrounding land as Doraemon protagonist Nobita.

Of course, basic gameplay revolves around growing crops. This is done in five phases.

First of all, you have to plow the field using the hoe (which can be upgraded), then you sow the seed related to what you’d like to grow. Seed can be purchased at the grocery store in the village. Every day, you water your growing crops. You shouldn’t forget or they may die.

Then you can harvest your crops. If you used fertilizer, you may get higher-quality results. Lastly, you put your crops in the shipping box. Doraemon will come and will deliver them to the store, yielding money depending on the shipped produce.

Inevitably, Doraemon’s gadgets also make an appearance. The Atgungun that gave episode 1325 of the anime its titles accelerates the growth of your crops, while the Hon’yaku Konnyaku (which was translated in the west as Translation Gummy) will let you understand any language.

Obviously, the Dokodemo Door or Anywhere Door makes an appearance as well.

Lastly, we get to see Nobita, Doraemon, Shizuka, Suneo, and Gian, alongside some of the villagers.

Doraemon Story of Seasons releases in Japan on June 13 exclusively for Nintendo Switch. No western release has been announced for now. If you want to see more, you can enjoy a recent trailer.
