How to Change Gear in The Division 2

To make progress in Ubisoft’s latest looter-shooter RPG, you’ll want to continually be locating and upgrading your weapons and equipment. Here’s how to change gear in The Division 2 in case you’re struggling to get to grips with the game’s UI.

How to Change Gear

First, you’ll want to access the “Character” section of the options menu to access your inventory. Unsurprisingly, you just need to press the option/menu button to do so. Press I on PC to access your inventory overview straight away.

Looking at the inventory, you’ll see all of the weapons, gear, and skills your character possesses. You can then select the item or piece of gear you want to change now.

If you’ve got another you want to switch for (the number of weapons or gear for each segment is indicated by the number in the top left corner of each box) you can press X (PS4) / A (Xbox One), highlight the weapon or piece of gear you want to switch to, and then press the button again.

How to See What Gear Is Better in Division 2

You’ll notice that the game will also show you whether or not the new weapon or gear will improve or decrease your stats, indicated by the green upward-pointing arrow or the red downward pointing arrow.

Obviously, you want to make sure that the gear you’re switching out is actually beneficial and not changing your stats for the worse. That is, of course, unless you’re some sort of fashionista and like the look of a certain bit of gear, or you particularly like one weapon’s design over another!

That does it for how to change gear in The Division 2. For more useful information, guides, and tips on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page. We’ll be covering the game extensively over the next few weeks.
