What You Need to Know About Cross-Platform Multiplayer in Crackdown 3
Crackdown 3 is finally releasing this week after initially being announced at E3 back in 2014. To put that time into context, Microsoft has released two additional Xbox One models —the Xbox One S and Xbox One X— and revitalized its focus on PC gaming with Windows 10 by offering all future first-party titles for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC at launch. Here’s what you need to know about cross-platform multiplayer in Crackdown 3.
One of those games being launched for both systems is Crackdown 3. It is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means buying it digitally allows you to play the game on either Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. Only one copy is necessary to purchase, and all your progress and achievements are synced between the two platforms.
Since it can be played on both platforms, it also supports cross-platform multiplayer. Xbox One players can play with or against PC players and vice versa in the two-player cooperative campaign and up to 10 players in the Wrecking Zone competitive multiplayer mode.
