Today Nintendo announced the games that will be distributed as part of the Nintendo Switch Online service in January.
The first is the classic Zelda II: The Aventure of Link, which was originally launched for the Famicom all the way back in 1987, with a western release on NES one year later, in 1988.
The second game is Sunsoft’s Blaster Master. It may be just a tad a little less iconic than the second Zelda game, but it brings some solid Metroidvania gameplay from before the term was invented in 1988.
Both games will be distributed on Jan. 16 for your nice injection of retro gaming from Nintendo’s early history.
To celebrate the announcement, the manufacturer dropped a trailer showing both new old games, and you can enjoy it below.
The Nintendo Switch Online service is currently available to Nintendo Switch owners for $3.99 a month, $7.99 every three months, or $19.99 a year, also providing cloud saves, online gameplay, and some assorted additional goodies.
