Kingdom Hearts 3: How to Get More AP

How to Get More AP in Kingdom Hearts 3

AP is one of the most useful resources to be earned and found in the Kingdom Hearts series. Here’s how to get more AP in Kingdom Hearts 3.

If you’ve played almost any Kingdom Hearts game, or really, any Japanese Action-RPG, you know that a lot of the strategy and subsequent fun comes from the abilities you have at your disposal.

Sure, button-mashing can get you through small skirmishes, but in order to take on larger hordes of enemies or bosses, you’ll often need to use a wide array of abilities to finish the fight.

In Kingdom Hearts 3, abilities are identical to their earlier outings in earlier entries of the series. Just as the abilities themselves are similar, so too are the way they’re assigned: ability points.

In order to assign an ability, you must have enough ability points, or AP, to do so.

For example, if you want to use assign an ability to your load out that requires three AP, you need at least three ability points. To assign more, you need more AP.

Pretty simple, right? So, what do you do when you need more AP?

Playing the game is one of the most simple and passive ways to earn AP in Kingdom Hearts 3. That’s because as you play the game, you’ll gain experience and when you level up, you are sometimes given AP.

You don’t, however, get AP every single time you level up so if you are looking for some guaranteed ability points, you’ll need to do some treasure hunting.

In some chests, you’ll find an item called an AP Boost. When this item is used, the character it is used on will gain one ability point.

Alternatively, you can find or purchase accessories like the Skill Ring. The Skill Ring, which can be purchased at a Moogle Shop, will increase a character’s max AP.
