Where to Find the Floating Island in Subnautica

There are a number of biomes and locations to uncover in Subnautica, not least of which is the Floating Island. If you’re having trouble reaching this hidden paradise, we’ve got you covered with a guide on where to find the Floating Island in Subnautica.

Found in the southwest section of Aurora area, the Floating Island is supported by a number of ancient floaters underneath it which keep the land mass aloft. It houses a number of edible plants for you to take back to your base of operations, as well as tech and blueprints to scavenge from ruins scattered around it.

The biome can be easy to miss, however, as it is quite a bit smaller than most any other biome that you can happen upon during a play through.

To reach the Floating Island in Subnautica, head toward the coordinates -620, 0, -967. This should take you toward the southwest end of the map, and the island should come into view long before you make landfall.

It should be noted that dangerous wildlife can make quick work of you if you venture too far into the Aurora on your way toward the island. To avoid them, bank right along the upper edge of the area and make your way to the side of the Floating Island.

Once there, you should be able to disembark and explore the biome to your heart’s content. Repeat the above strategy if and when you want to return to the island to gather more resources, scavenge more materials or blueprints or simply check out the island’s aesthetic.

Hopefully, this clears up where to find the floating island in Subnautica. Subnautica is currently available on Xbox One and PC. For more on the game, check out our guide on how to obtain cave sulfur as well as a list of games to try if you’re looking for something similar to Subnautica.
