Today Sony Interactive Entertainment released a commercial to advertise the PS4 in Japan during the challenging Holiday shopping season.
The commercial features some of the hottest games to be released in Japan over the next few months, including Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Ace Combat 7, Resident Evil 2, and Project Judge, God Eater 3.
That’s certainly a diverse and rather rich lineup, and it’ll be interesting to see how strong it’ll prove during what analysts call the “Holiday shopping battle” in Japan. It goes from the beginning of December to the first week of the new year, and it normally brings massive sales. This year appears to be quite challenging for PlayStation, as Nintendo is very strong in the country. It may erode a sizable chunk of the shrinking advantage the PS4 has in Japan in terms of lifetime sales.
While the PS4 lead worldwide appears to be very difficult to catch up to, the Switch has a solid chance to overtake the rival in Japan next year.
