Microsoft has just announced its Games With Gold line up for January 2019. Next month, Xbox Live Gold members will be receiving Celeste, WRC 6: World Rally Championship, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and Far Cry 2.
Celeste is the most recent release included in January’s Games With Gold selection. The game came out earlier this year and is a fun and challenging platformer with an excellent story. If you want to learn more about it, be sure to check out our review.
Racing fans will be able to pick up WRC 6: World Rally Championship. WRC 6 is a racing game from 2016 that includes a variety of cars and races from the 2016 World Rally Championship season.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is an isometric action-adventure game originally released by Square Enix in 2010. One reason to be excited about this game’s inclusion is that the story can be completed in co-op online or locally. The game was well-received upon release and even got a sequel, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, in 2014.
Far Cry 2 is the last game included with January’s Games With Gold but certainly not the least. The game came out in 2008 and was met with positive reviews. Many players have praised it for its highly involved character and equipment maintenance systems, but some found them frustrating. It is exciting that more players will be able to experience one of the most discussed games of the last generation. For those curious about what we thought of Far Cry 2, be sure to read our review.
While Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Far Cry 2 are listed as Xbox 360 games, both are backward compatible and playable on Xbox One. You can take a look at what we predicted would be included in January 2019’s Games With Gold list here.
