Apple revealed its games of the year across its iOS, Mac, and Apple TV devices alongside lists for the top games of 2018 on iPhone and iPad.
Publisher Annapurna Interactive earned two awards this year with physics-based puzzle game Donut County winning Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year and Gorogoa, a puzzle game with hand-drawn illustrations, winning iPad game of the year. The Gardens Between won Mac Game of the Year and Alto’s Odyssey won Apple TV Game of the Year.
Apple also published lists for the top free and paid games of 2018 for iPhone and iPad listed below. Epic Games’s Fortnite took the top spot for both devices under the free category, while Minecraft continues to sell after releasing in 2011 on iOS 8 with first place in paid iPad games and second place for paid iPhone games.
