How to Play Spyro 2 and Spyro Year of the Dragon in Spyro Reignitied Trilogy

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to tug at the ol’ nostalgia strings in a big way with three awesome games. But what if you’re keen to skip the original and get straight to the sequels? Here’s how to play Spyro 2 and Spyro Year of the Dragon in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Thankfully, you can indeed choose which game you want to play first; you won’t have beat them in order to unlock the second and third games. When you start up the game, you’ll have to pick a save slot and then you can choose which of the three games you want to play.

There’s a bit of a catch if you’ve purchased the physical version of the game, though. The disc doesn’t actually have the data for those titles loaded on as standard (odd, we agree), so that means in order to play Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon you’ll have to download a 42GB patch.

Those who purchased the game digitally have it slightly easier.

By default, the Reignited Trilogy will download all three games when purchased digitally. As you sit patiently watching your download tick over, you can actually start playing at roughly 20GB – though that’ll only grant you access to the first game. You’ll have to wait for the full install to launch Ripto’s Rage and Year of the Dragon.

That’s all you need to know about how to play Spyro 2 and Spyro Year of the Dragon in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. For more useful information and guides be sure to search Twinfinite.
