One of the most interesting aspects of the announcement of Project Judge (or Judge Eyes if you want to use its Japanese title) is that Sega released a demo on the same day, surprising and impressing fans of the Yakuza series.
That being said, w’ere getting another chance to try the game before it launches in Japan. Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals a brand new demo which will release on the Japanese PlayStation Store on November 29th. If you happen to have a Japanese PlayStation Plus account, you’ll be able to grab it even earlier, tomorrow, November 22nd. Actually, it’s already today in Japan, but Sega normally release demos at around noon local time, so there are still a few hours to go at the moment of this writing.
The demo will feature a full first chapter of the game, letting players experience more of the updated Kamurocho and of the new mechanics included in the game. It’ll even be possible to transfer the save game to the full game when it launches.
Speaking of Kamurocho, we get to see a few vistas of the new and old locations that will appear in Kamurocho (If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a fictionalized version of Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo).
The images showcase the law firm where protagonist Takayuki Yamgami used to work, the familiar batting center, the VR Salon Paradise where you can enjoy VR games, and the Club Sega that features the 3D shooting game “Kamuro of the Dead.” This is particularly interesting, as it’s very similar to the old PS3 game Yakuza: Dead Souls.Â
More location includes the club Amour, the Drone racing league, the Yagami’s office, Mahjong Tachibana, Sauna Goten, Bar Tender (yes, that’s a lovely pun), and more.
You can check them all in the gallery below. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy the opening cutscene, and the full version of the theme song.
The game launches exclusively for PS4 on December 13th in Japan and next year in North America and Europe. Unfortunately there is no word of a demo in English for now.
