Gorgeous 2D Platformer Gris Releasing Next Month for Switch and PC

Devolver Digital has announced that the beautiful 2D platformer Gris will be releasing on Dec 13 for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Gris, the visually stunning 2D platformer that was revealed earlier this year now has a release date of Dec. 13 for Switch and PC, along with a new trailer showing off the game’s unique art style.

Based off the trailers and official descriptions, Gris looks to be a puzzle-based 2D platformer with a beautiful and striking watercolor design, accompanied by a soft and ambient soundtrack. According to publisher Devolver Digital, the game will also have a focus on story.

Devolver Digital’s description reads:

“Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality. As the story unfolds, Gris will grow emotionally and see her world in a different way, revealing new paths to explore using her new abilities.

GRIS is a serene and evocative experience, free of danger, frustration or death. Players will explore a meticulously designed world brought to life with delicate art, detailed animation, and an elegant original score. Through the game light puzzles, platforming sequences, and optional skill-based challenges will reveal themselves as more of Gris’s world becomes accessible.”

With a release date just a few weeks away, it won’t be long until we know whether or not Gris can live up to the gorgeous vision that it captured in these trailers. Gris will be available for purchase on Switch and PC next month on Dec. 13.
