How to Get Water Filters in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 puts an even greater focus on crafting and survival mechanics than its predecessor, so you’ll be scouring the wasteland looking for all sorts of materials and resources. Here’s how to get water filters in Fallout 76.

Unsurprisingly, water is a hugely important resource for keeping your character healthy. Also unsurprisingly, the average puddle of water in post-nuclear-fallout West Virginia isn’t the most cleanly, and you’ll quickly run out of purified water bottles. Water filters to the rescue!

To filter radioactivity and other nasties, you’ll need water filters. These need to be crafted with the following materials from a workbench:

  • Adhesive x 1
  • Bleach Dogwood x 3
  • Glowing Fungus x 1

As for where to find those particular ingredients, luckily most are fairly commonplace:

  • Adhesive can be found just about by scrapping loot like glues and tape.
The Bleach Dogwood is found on certain trees, so you’ll need to explore your surrounding area to locate it.
Most rivers, such as the one located close by the entrance to Fallout 76, should have Glowing Fungus lined along their banks.

Once you’ve acquired your materials you’ll just need some dirty water, which is the easiest ingredient to find. Any source of water will do, and then just choose the option to Collect.

Do note that you can actually consume this water without purifying it via a filter, but it’ll add six Rads to your player, so make sure you’ve either got Radaway or a resilient build to Rad effects.
