Fallout 76: How to Get Stimpaks

How to Get Stimpaks in Fallout 76

Recommended Videos

Despite being the first multiplayer-focused title in the series, Fallout 76 uses the same mechanics and systems that fans know well. This includes the targeting system V.A.T.S., which now plays out in real time, as well as familiar items like RadAway and Stimpaks. If you’ve played any Fallout game in the past, you’ll know that Stimpaks are one of the most useful items you can have in your inventory, as it’s how you heal. Here’s how to get Stimpaks in Fallout 76.

How to Get Stimpaks

Your primary way of getting Stimpaks will be to purchase them, as you might expect. You’ll be able to purchase them from any Medical Vending machine and the Protectron robot vendors. They’re relatively inexpensive so as long as you have a few caps.

You’ll also be able to find them in First Aid boxes scattered around the world. These boxes are white with green writing on them, so pretty easy to spot. It’s not guaranteed you’ll get a Stimpak whenever you open a First Aid box, but it’s still pretty likely, and the boxes are plentifully scattered around the buildings and structures of Fallout 76.

Two other ways of getting the items involve supply drops and quests. Stimpaks are usually part of the U.S. Government Supply requests that you can do at radio towers, and they are sometimes given as rewards for completing various quests or events in Fallout 76.

All Stimpak Types & What the Difference Is

There are three different types of Stimpaks in Fallout 76, regular, diluted, and super. Most of the ones you find out in the world or get through quest rewards will be standard, and the ones you can craft will be diluted.

A regular Stimpak will restore 20% HP at a regular rate, while a diluted one will restore 10% HP at a slow rate. Super Stimpaks will restore even more health, but we aren’t quite sure of the exact number yet. It’s also important to note that a regular has a carry weight of 1 while a diluted has a carry weight of .5, meaning you can carry twice as many.

How to Craft  and Use Stimpaks

Using Stimpaks is simple. All you have to do is hit circle (or B) to open your Pip-Boy, use L2/R2 to tab over to the Item menu, go to aid, and then select the one you want to use with X or A. You’ll also need a Stimpak to revive a downed teammate.

Luckily, there is a way you can craft more, specifically more diluted packs. By using a Chemistry Station you’ll be able to turn a Stimpak into two diluted ones. Chemistry Stations can be found all around West Virginia, and they’re easy to spot since they’re made up of a bunch of winding tubes and beakers. You can also construct one at your CAMP with the following materials.

  • Copper x3
  • Glass x4
  • Rubber x3
  • Screw x3
  • Steel x6
  • Wood x3

To craft diluted all you’ll need is two purified water and one Stimpak, which will then let you create two diluted ones. If you find yourself running low on the healing item, this is the best way to maximize the amount you’ll have in your inventory, and maximize the amount of healing you can do.
