Fallout 76: Can You Get Into Vault 63? What You Need to Know

Can You Get Into Vault 63 in Fallout 76? What You Need to Know

Recommended Videos

Fallout 76’s Appalachia has a ton of secrets for players to uncover. From the bizarre Pumpkin House over in The Mire, to the Alien Blaster that can be uncovered up towards the north of the map. Some players may have uncovered Vault 63 on their travels, which has led to some people wondering whether or not you can explore inside. Here’s whether or not you can get into Vault 63 in Fallout 76.

Just because Vault 76 opened on Reclamation Day, doesn’t mean that it’s the only Vault in the surrounding area. Vault 63 can be found in the very south of the map, just to the west of the Garrahan Mining Headquarters that you might have visited for the ‘Miner Miracles’ side quest to get you that Excavator Power Armor.

Heading from here, you’ll need to head west and look out for an old-looking metal shack. If you step inside and take the left of the two doors, you’ll be taken down into a cave and you’ll find the door to Vault 63, alongside a terminal and an ID card reader. It’s the terminal and the ID card reader that have got some people wondering whether or not Vault 63 can be opened in Fallout 76.

Unfortunately, you can’t get into Vault 63 in Fallout 76. At least, not for now. While you’ll likely have tried for a fair chunk of time to find a secret way into Vault 63, or even Vault 94 which is also present in Appalachia, they’re sealed for good right now.

According to a letter from the team at Bethesda prior to Fallout 76 officially launching last week, however, it seems as though the vaults might open in the near future. “We have an incredible list of updates we’ve begun to work on – from C.A.M.P. building improvements, new quests and events, new Vaults opening, character respecing, a faction-based PvP system, and much more.”

Unfortunately, at this moment in time, Bethesda has yet to state when these vaults may become more than just a cosmetic feature of Appalachia. However, it certainly suggests we’ll be able to explore them soon, or that they’ll be opening up to introduce some sort of new feature or mechanic to Fallout 76.

As soon as we hear more on exactly when Vault 63 has opened in Fallout 76, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know of what you need to do in order to get inside and uncover its secrets. For now, though, it’s just a case of waiting and wondering.
