Here’s everything you need to know about how to get rid of Mutations in Fallout 76.

As you explore the wasteland in Fallout 76, you’ll come across things that are irradiated. Whether that be other players, with Fallout 76 adopting an online multiplayer structure, the environment, or items you consume, they can all be dangerous.

Mutations can be one of the side effects of being too adventurous, and you might want to know how to get rid of them.

How to Get Mutations

You get mutations in Fallout 76 from radiation. Whenever you forget to stock any RadAways on your adventure and take radiation damage, whether that be from irradiated areas or items, you have a chance of getting a mutation.

You won’t get mutations if you are below level 5 though, so you won’t have to worry about it early on.

Mutations are semi-permanent, however, every time you use RadAway, there is a chance that the Mutation will be removed. You can keep using RadAway for more attempts to remove a Mutation, but it’s not a surefire way of doing so. You might not want to remove them at all, though, but we’ll get into that in a bit.

Also, the perk card Starched Genes prevents you from gaining new ones but also stops your mutations from getting removed by RadAway.

Are They Good or Bad?

Mutations in Fallout 76 do a few different things. They can have positive effects, such as increased weapon damage or faster health regeneration. However, they can also be negative, such as decreased strength or even the inability to eat vegetables. You can check out our full list of the Mutations in Fallout 76 to decide which ones you think are good or bad. It’s rarely as simple as that though.

Serums are consumable items that will grant a specific Mutation as soon as you use it. If you already have that Mutation, the Serum will temporarily suppress the negative effects of the mutation and increase the positive effects.

That’s all there is to know about how to get rid of mutations in Fallout 76. For more tips and tricks on the game, check out our Fallout 76 wiki guide, or some other guides below.
