It has been more than six years since the last SoulCalibur game released, but the new game is a big step forward for the series. Alongside some new gameplay elements that are vital to success in fights, you can play as Geralt from The Witcher series. You can even play as the famous adventurer against a friend. To make doing so easy, here’s everything you need to know about how to play with friends in SoulCalibur VI.

The easiest way to play against friends is to set up a local co-op game. To do so, head into the battle section of the game and select versus mode. Then, set up the game as a ‘player vs. player’ match. Then, with both controllers connected, choose which characters you would like to use and where you want the location for the fight.

Then, you can also play against a friend online. To play with friends in SoulCalibur VI online, head to the network part of the game and select a casual match. From there, create a room for you and your friends to be a part of, and set the private setting to ‘on.’

Once the room is all set up, press the Options button (menu on Xbox One), which will bring up the room menu. Then, select Invite Player and look for the player you want to fight against. Once you’ve found them, select them and an invite to the room will be sent.

All you then need to do is wait for your friend to accept the invite and join the lobby. You can then set the fight up as you usually would, choosing your characters and the location of the fight. After all that, you’ll be ready to show your friend who’s boss.
