Ni No Kuni 2 DLC Details Finally Emerge, But Still No Release Date

Ni no Kuni 2 cast, DLC, Ni No Kuni 2

Frustrated No No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom season pass holders can breathe a collective sigh of relief –after seven months, the game’s first major DLC finally has a name. Labyrinth of the Ghost King will supposedly release later this winter, though an official release date has not been confirmed.

Publishers not stipulating the exact DLC content for season passes isn’t anything new, but I can’t think of too many examples where customers have been badly burned. But things were getting certainly getting worrisome in the case of Ni No Kuni 2. It took four months for Bandai Namco to even confirm story content was on the way, and a further three to confirm its name. At least we’ve now got some information on what to expect.

Gematsu reports Labyrinth of the Ghost King will center around King Lamikyl, the leader of Endrance. Players will be tasked with taking him down, presumably in a similar fashion to the game’s main quest structure. In addition to the narrative, the DLC will feature new equipment to collect, and players will have to master a new battle mechanic called the Gokui System. We’re not sure exactly the mechanic entails at this point.

The fact that it’s taken this long for Bandai Namco to make clear the Ni No Kuni 2 season pass content doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in them hitting the planned winter window. Still, we live in hope. More on that soon.

We absolutely loved Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom in our review of the game earlier this year. You can check it out here while you want for Bandai Namco to deliver the DLC.
