Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Features a Breath of the Wild Easter Egg

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s release date is just around the corner, with reviews painting a positive picture for the latest installment in Ubisoft’s assassin series. Earlier today, it was revealed that the upcoming title will have a neat Nintendo easter egg hidden in it.

While exploring the game’s huge map, Kotaku stumbled upon an interesting island, located off the coast of Malis in Pandora’s Cove. At first, it simply seems like a small and featureless land mass. However, more exploration towards the middle of the map uncovers an interesting rock formation. Right in the middle of this circle of rocks sits an oddly small figure with a leaf on its head.

Ubisoft has since confirmed that this formation and figure is a nod to Korok Seed Puzzles, a well-known side quest featured in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Solving these puzzles in Breath of the Wild results in important upgrades, as they add one slot to Link’s Weapon, Bow, or Shield stashes.

While the trials vary, this specific reference is to the petroglyph puzzles, which is solved by completing specific rock formations. Outside of simply kicking the rocks, nothing can be done interaction wise with the easter egg in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

If you are eager to find this reference for yourself, you won’t have too wait much longer, as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releases Oct. 5, 2018, for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
