Spider-Man PS4: How to Swing Faster

How to Swing Faster in Spider-Man for the PS4

Recommended Videos

Spider-Man for the PS4 aims to continue the awesome feeling of Spidey swinging through Manhattan that other games have given us. It wouldn’t be a good Spider-Man game without it being open world. No shade, no tea. Okay, maybe a lot of shade. Either way, swinging around is a blast all over again, and here are some tips for how to swing faster around Spider-Man for the PS4.

Do keep in mind that there is fast travel in the game. If you’re more interested in getting around super fast, you can just use that. Check out our guide for that over here.

For the rest of you that just plain ol’ want to swing fast, there’s some things you need to keep in mind. One, there’s no specific button to go faster. It’s not like jogging versus sprinting on the ground. The only thing you can do is master the momentum needed.

Imagine that you’re slinging Spider-Man himself like he’s a pendulum. You need to let go and jump at the peak of momentum, usually found where Spidey would be perfectly vertical, at the bottom of his swing. Waiting for the high altitude jump sure does look great and earns you a lot of height, but it’s not going to equal being fast.

Another thing to keep in mind are the X and L1 and R1 button combinations. X is a quick sling forward, and L1 plus R1 together on a surface means Spider-Man will land on there.

Before he does, though, you can hit X and he will launch quickly forward. This helps keep his movements smoothly. Utilizing this a lot will actually make you faster than if you were swinging around with R2.

That’s all there is to it! That’s how you swing faster in Spider-Man for the PS4. Keep practicing and you’ll rock at it in no time. If you need more help with the game, why not check out our wiki?
