God of War: Is There Co-Op Multiplayer?

IS THERE CO-OP MULTIPLAYER IN GOD OF WAR?

Recommended Videos

Kratos, in this new iteration of God of War, has a son named Atreus, a son that he must teach to hunt and survive. Looking at gameplay trailers and footage, we see that Atreus stays with Kratos for the majority of the time, which leads us to the question. Is there any sort of online/offline co-op multiplayer in God of War? Will you be able to play as Atreus as well as Kratos?

As of writing this, the answer to this question is simple, no. There is no kind of co-op multiplayer-focused aspect in God of War. Sony Santa Monica has crafted together a story-driven, solitary, single-player experience that is meant to be played by one person and one person only. Atreus fights beside Kratos, aiding him in times of need, but he is still only controlled by an A.I.

Sony Santa Monica hasn’t talked about adding in any kind of multiplayer modes or functionality to the game, but if something changes, we will make sure to update this guide with the proper information.

And that’s your answer for whether or not the latest PS4 exclusive has co-op multiplayer. Be sure to check out our God of War wiki for more tips, tricks, and guides.
