Yooka-Laylee: How to Play Multiplayer

How to Play Multiplayer in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

While you’ll be on your own on your mission to collect all of the Pagies in Yooka-Laylee, the game does have multiplayer. Fortunately, it’s incredibly simple to use, too.

Yooka-Laylee’s multiplayer mode can be enjoyed by up to four players. There’s no co-op here, though. Instead, players will compete against one another in Rextro’s classic arcade-style games. To access this, all you need to do is simply select the Rextro’s Arcade: 2P-4P option from the game’s main menu. Then, select your save file until you find yourself in Rextro’s Arcade.

Down the side of the arcade machine, you should see a list of games available for you to play. Simply confirm the one you want to play and then you’ll be taken to the player select screen. Press A (X on PS4) on each player’s controller to confirm they’ll be joining in the fun and then continue when you’re ready.

There’s really nothing else to Yooka-Laylee’s multiplayer mode. While it’s not quite the full-fledged co-op experience that some players might have been hoping for, it’s definitely fun to jump into some local multiplayer action in Rextro’s arcade.
