Persona 5: How to Beat the Heavenly Punisher

How to Beat the Heavenly Punisher in Persona 5

Recommended Videos

The Heavenly Punisher is a sub-boss of sorts that you’ll face in the Castle of Lust, the first Palace you’ll find yourself in while playing Persona 5. He’s one of the main guards of the castle, tasked with keeping you from obtaining Kamoshida’s distorted treasure and freeing the school from his reign of terror. He can be a bit annoying to fight, because while he doesn’t seem like much, he can easily one-shot one of your party members if you aren’t careful.

What makes the Heavenly Punisher a bit challenging is that he’s resistant to both fire and lightning and immune to status ailments such as sleep. He has no noticeable weakness, but your attacks at least do normal damage. His attacks aren’t all that worrying either save for one. Every now and then he will Charge. This gathers up his attack power, which he will use on his next turn. What you need to do is have every single one of your characters Guard rather than attack. His followup attack after Charge can easily kill anyone and introduce you to Persona 5’s game over screen.

That’s all there is to this Persona 5 sub-boss. The Heavenly Punisher won’t be punishing anyone anymore. For more on Persona 5 be sure to check out our wiki.
