Project Octopath Traveler is Being Worked On By the Bravely Series Development Team

No wonder it looks so familiar!

If you thought the gameplay and charming art style of Project Octopath traveler looked an awful lot like another similarly endearing RPG series from Square Enix, here’s why. The game’s official Facebook page has been opened, and it confirms that Octopath Traveler is being worked on by the same development team that brought us Bravely Default and Bravely Second. The Facebook page also featured a welcome post from producer Tomoya Asano:

‘This is Square Enix producer Tomoya Asano.

It’s my pleasure to finally announce our newest project, the fully original role-playing game Octopath Traveler!

While we can’t reveal any specific details quite yet (keep an eye out for promotional media in the near future), we’d like to share with you a behind-the-scenes look at the development process in the meantime.

A long road lies ahead of us, but we hope that you’ll come along for the journey!’

Project Octopath Traveler was first unveiled at the Nintendo Switch event, and will be coming to the new console at a yet unannounced date.
